Statement by the President on Saskatchewan Tragedy

It took us a while to process the horrific act of senseless violence commited this weekend in the communities of James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.

The President and Fellows of Union Collegiate stands with the affected communities, as well as the entire province of Saskatchewan through this unspeakable tragedy. 

There are no words for the grief and intergenerational trauma felt in this moment by Canada’s Indigenous peoples.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the survivors, families, Indigenous Nations and all those affected by this horrific tragedy.
